El Templo

Today was super fun!  After school and lunch at home with our families we all headed to the Mérida Temple!

We did Baptisms which was fun because I got to be the "Mom" that handed people a towel as they were getting out of the font.  The priesthood holders performed the baptisms and confirmations.  We were there for about 2 hours when they finally said we needed to quickly finish because a large group of YM and YW came to do baptisms.

After the temple, most people went home but Rachel, Ben, Kyle, and I went to institute at the church building right next door.  We met some friends there who took us out to dinner afterwards. Ok well really it was one 1 friend but then he had friends that came to hang out with us too!  We went to a place called Chaya Maya.

It's a cute little place where the ladies where hipils and make homemade tortillas right there infront of you!

I ordered a plate that had a little sample of 4 traditional Yucateca food...it was all amazing even if it didn't quite appear to be.

This picture is upside down but it is a Yucatan Tamal, a cochinita taco, a panucho, and a relleno negro taco.

Overall today was a great success...We made it to the temple, we made some friends, and we ate some great food!
